WAIMANA RIVER
A DIFFICULT PROBLEM
COUNCIL TO INSPECT
"I would like to draw the attention of the council to the erosion caused by the Waimana River above "Woolfield's bridge. Something will have to be done or else we will have a very serious problem on our hands," said Cr R. F. Wardlaw at the last meeting of the Whakatane County Council. The chairman agreed that the position was getting and that evcr3 r successive Hood meant wider erosion. Cr Cawte warned against the changing of the course of the river which he. said would lead to increasing difficulties. The matter was referred to the engineer to make an urgent inspection and report to the works committee.
