EDGECUMBE'S BIG SHOW The attention of readers is drawn to the advertisement in this, issue of the "Spitfire Revue" which is being played in the Edgeeumbe Hall on tlie. nights of Monday and Tuesday 2nd and 3rd of August. An interesting programme with plays and snappy choruses,, bright costumes iind vivid lighting effects will be presented. A "mirth making coster scene will be followed by an attractive and humorous sjene. A oneact play "The Bishop's Candlesticks" will provide a very strong human interest. The opening scene-has a .strong military flavour is interspersed. with interesting effects. Rollicking laughter will be the reward for the performers in the hilsarious one-act play "Mr Hackett's Prize." Lovtiy music, amusing dancing and loars of. laughter .will bring ■the curtain down on the final scene in a • Negro plantation group. The rc\ue Avill also play in Whakatane ;at. the Grfind Theatre on the night •of Thursday, stli August. Edgeeumbe audiences are advised to reserve seats at Mrs Marx's, Edgeeumbe . All reserved seats are 3/-. Unreserved seats are. 2/G and children are admitted for 1/-. Holders of tickets who have to come early and to note that Tuesday night tickets will not be accepted on Monday and vice versa. The box plan is now open. Theatre doors close at 8 p.m. on each evening of the entertainment. Intending patrons are asked to note that there will lie over 200 unreserved seats available each night .at the Edgeeumbe Hall and that over 50 per ccnt of these will have hacks, but only holders of adult tickets will be admitted to these Jaacketl seats.
