POLITICAL PARTIES
Sir, —There are many trends of political thought in this country as well as many factions,, and are we not told, that Nve should acce.pt dictatorship from them all. This is not exactly correct; the individual mast do his own thinking to work out his own salvation, whether it <s for the present or the -future. Hence Ave have to consider those political factions as they are now before us. Labour and Democratic Labour; the one being the off shoot of the 1 . are both holding a brief for beaucratic dictatorship. The National Party according to its own propaganda still holds the Vwhip" in its hands under orthodox finance. As-" suming that the rest are. Independents it would be quite in order review their political organisations. We. have the National Independents and Labour Independents but wliea we come to the Peoples Movement we wonder if there is not food forethought—being piloted by the; well known organiser of the (late) Democratic Party 1935. Whilst tlie late leader of. that Party (Mr His- ¥ lop) is aspiring to honours in the; National Party. The Communist Party has retired pro tem. Social Justice if true to name sounds quite good. Then we have the 'R.D.M.* The Real Democracy Movement, being truly Demoreatie, its members are Independents, free from a party "whip" but being responsible to the people who put them into office, thus being subject to the right of _ recall. Yours etc., W. BRADSHAW.
