PADDY'S MARKET
EFFORT AT TE TEKO RED CROSS FUNDS BENEFIT Despite poor weather conditions and the presence of counter attractions in the district the Te Teko Red Cross Society held; a most successful Paddy's Market in the Te Teko Hall on Saturday, June 126 th. The committee wishes: to thank the residents of Te Teko and Oncpu and particularly the Maori, people for their enthusiastic support of the cause. Special thanks are l due' to Mir Ncpia Hona and his assistants for the time and work spent in producing a most appetising dinner from the hangi and, also to those, ladies who have worked so hard during the past weeks at remaking and mending garments donated. The stall holders; and receipts were as follows:— * Clothes:; Mesdames. Pryor, Guest, Smith :and Miss Tebbutt, £41 2s Bd. Produce: Mesdames Jamieson and Craddock, £14 Bs. Books: Mrs Goodwill', £3 Is. Hangi: Mr Nepia Hona, Mrs Hona,, Mrs Anderson and helpers,, £15- 7s. Afternoon Tea: Mesdames Linsel I, Eivers,, Foote, Ross, Sparks, Henessev and Miss Berryman, £'A Is 9d. Competitions: Misses Anderson and Qrmsby and. Mr Gush, £12 9s. Darts: Mr Gush,, 3(is ,'frl. The competitions were won by Mrs C„ Chase and Mr O'Brien and Mrs Chase expressed her pleasure by a song which was heartily applauded,, thus bringing a most successful afternoon to a harmonious close. ——»
