Zealand's finest pilots, observers, aircraft engineers, etc. when their <officer knows nothing whatsoever about aircraft. Could not this position be filled by a more responsible person such as el returned experienced airman, a number ;of . whom are now in our own .district, sdme in fact who. have 11 own on many raids over Germany. We feel sure that young boys would have more confidence in a man of this type. Give the boys- this chance and the commanding title to one who's earned it! Yours etc., THREE IN THE ARMED FORCES.
Sir, —In it recent issue of thetßcacon wc read, that the Whakatane A. T. C. now possess a. so-called Flight Commander. Is the public satisfied with such, an appointment as this for a person, who for ii years and 9 months has had no military training in its proper sense.
