COUNCILS STAND
Sir, —May I through your paper congratulate the. County Councillors on. the .splendid stand they ..have taken in refusing to issup? Upences to the Strathmore gentlemen to tear round the country in the,* Governnent trucks, ak, any reckless speed ami for any useless purpose they fancy. f | For a long time I have felt. real-, iy ashamed to think that, we> have put up with the petting and pampering of this set of disloyal individuals and thought we had either grown spineless or thoroughly indifferent to what we saw going on and that it was hopeless to raise a voice against it, when lo and behold-a new sign of life appears on the scene. The County Councillors are re&lly alive. . How can you expect these men from Strathinore (who thin'k their country not worth fighting for even when their own side is in power) . td' Uo anything to help the returning soldiers who have done a mar- : ' vellous job. We are indeed proud-, of these magnificent soldiers ' who will find very little done .on their land unless the present, arrangements are altered. County Councillors—well done—stand, firm, the majority of decent people are behind you. Yours etc., v ANTI HUMBUG.
