TO CORRESPONDENTS
f AVOIDING PERSONALITIES The present controversy now featuring in our. correspondence columns, „.fo# the: V inception of which a Beacon editorial was largely responsible, .is tending to become' dangerously personal. We wouldi therefore request correspondents to confine their remarks to fai'r criticism»only. This paper is dedicated', to a free and unfettered expression of opinion provided? such, expressions are not libellous, indecent or of an undesirably nature. If therefore our correspondents seek to endorse the opinion that certain court proceedings resulted in a penalty completely disproportionate to the offence committed, they are at perfect liberty, to do so through these columns. If however the trend of criticism grows over-personal we will be compelled! to close the correspondence in our own and their interests.
