Writing the Whakatane County Council tJie Superintendent of Land Development, Department of Lands
and Survey, advised, that approval hud been obtained to the payment to the council of a grant of £563 5s 2d in lieu of general rates for 194243, provided an undertaking was given by the council that at least that sum will be expended on the road giving access to the .station. The council resolved . that the ne-
cessary assurance be given the Superintendent of Land, Development and that he be advised that the expenditure on the Te Teko-Fort Galatea lioart was £173.1 17s lid last year—that L;iiuls and Survey Department J)e requested also to consider the matter of making a grant towards the cost of the Kopuriki Bridge which bridge will be of great value to the Estate cartage.
