SOLDIERS PARCELS
The Waimana Patriotic Committee wish to thank the people of the district for their past patronage to the farewell and welcome home dances, which has enabled them to forward fruit cakes, parcels and monetary gifts to our own local men, who have gone overseas. The gifts have, been forwarded at intervals, since, the Avar began. Parcels costing nearly £1 each have recently been despatched to all local men Overseas. Many thanks go to the two committees who organise, the dances, under the auspices of the Patriotic Committee, and the ladies who have baked cakes, biscuits, and shortbread for the parcels, and also the packers of the parcels. The committee look on the money collected. at those dances as belonging to our own boys for parcels and comforts.
