Bowling Season Closes The Whakatane Rowling Club will officially conclude its season to-morrow Avhcn a friendly tournament Avill be held. The season has been a particularly memorable one in spite of the Avar conditions. The weather has been kind throughout and a surprising feature is the number of new players who have started the good o!d game and, who have made excellent progress. This is possibly explained by the almost complete absence of any other kind of masculine sport. Broken Arm Sustained While participating in a practice game of football last Tuesday evening, Mr Leslie Stewart, of the Pa, Whakatane, sustained a fractured shoulder- Avhich avill incapacitate him for the best part of. three weeks. As Mr Stewart is a member of the BEACON factory staff, which is alreadjr acutely shorthanded the company is experiencing considedable difficulty in carrying out its usual programme, of newspaper production and jobbing. Readers, ad\ rcrtisers and clients are asked, to bear this in mind during the next week.
