DAIRY COMPANY'S DILEMMA
THOSE who read the advertised announcement in last issue of the Beacon will have gathered something of the nature of the growing problem which is facing the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Company in its urgent search for workers.-. Faced with the requisition to quit by the end of July, allits unmarried male workers, and likewise with the utter impossibility of obtaining replacements through the Manpower Officer, the. company with the approach of the ne*w season is in a desperate position. At least nine assistants are required and in order to meet the position the com-; pany is forced to practically appeal to the general public to help fill the breach. A number of the positions could be filled by capable, able-bodied women and this fact should be borne in mind when the matter is under consideration. Here is a call which if only temporary assistance can be proffered is addressed to those who could possibly makej themselves available in the interests of the country*s war effort.
