THE "GOOD ENDEAVOUR" LEAGUE FOR YOUNG READERS ONLY Aboard for the Goodwill Cruise
What ho. what ho. ma hearties. Here. I am again relaying from Whale Island after a Aery hectic week. I suppose the main tiling that has interested you was the visit of Their Excellencies to the school yesterday week. M certainly was a splendid day and. so was. also the Scout Rally 611 Saturday and the Church Service on Sunday. Of course you wonder how I know all about it. Havent I told you of the magic powers of my supcr-hyper-ext.raordinary jewel led-in-twelve-holes telescope. Well all I had to do was to point it at the school grounds and listen in to what was going 011. You don't believe me. Alright, then, here is something that the Gover-nor-General said, (and which hasn't already been printed cither): I "Now I want you to help your mothers. They need your help because so many of our men are away. You little chaps don't leave your toys around for father to trip over when he comes home tired. There are dozens of ways in which you can help. In the mornings you can see that you get up early to be able to make your own bed before you go to school. Don't just pull the top over the crumpled l sheets underneath. Make it properly. And you can also wash up for mother —carefully and l properly. ■ Don't putt a clean plate on the top of a pile of dirty ories so that when mother finds out she has to do them all 1 again. Those are some of the things you cani do to help out. Now you see that you do it ! So you see, I'm always in the swim as it were and I know cvciything that goes on in this district at. least. By the way did you know that wc. have had 230 members 'in the Good. Endeavour League. Some of course have left but its prefty good isn't it ? Cheerio till next week P.T.W.
