As the. result of the taking of a horse from Ruatoki and riding it to Tancatua on the night of the 26th inst and lotting it go on the road, a Maori Ted Tumatahi of Tancatua, appeared before Messrs Moody and HayAvard, J's.P., at Tancatua on 4th inst to. ansAver a charge of unlaAvfully converting a horse the property of Reuben Kaho. He pleaded guilty and after the matter Avas explained by Constable Rice, the Justices. fined Tumatahi £5, £2 of Avhich Avas to be paid to the owner of the horse as compensation. ' "
