PROPOSED LOAN OF £4<M»
At the meeting of the Borough? Council the clerk. reported a proposal of the Fire Board to> borrow £400 to finance the purchase oi land in Commerce Street for a new sta-» tion site. The Loans Board considered that the moneys-should be expended from revenue, which would involve an increase this year of £200 in the levy on the Council, but requested the opinion of the Council concerning this view, or whether the Council preferred that the money should be borrowed and the liability thus spread over a period. After a brief discussion the Council resolved that the Loans Board he notified that the Council would ppefer that the proposal be financed by recourse to loan and the liability thus spread over a convenient per-* itod.
