THE FINANCIAL POSITION
OVER £400 PROFIT
The Taneatua Patriotic Committee will have every reason to bo proud of its effort in connection with its recent, sports meeting, which resulted in the handsome addition to the funds of £400.
One outstanding feature was the wonderful response by the Maori community, the patriotism and enthusiasm being an example to many of their pakelia neighbours. The hangi & stall w r cre under the capable control of Mesdames Anderson and Rice, assisted by Mesdames Rore. Hillman, I. and I. Hunt, Gobbie, Reneti, Nulcu and Kawana, Misses C. and B. Hunt, Messrs T. Tumutahi, T. Rore and B. Soutar. Their joint efforts realised the splenditl sum of £62 4s Bd.
The committee's special thanks go to Mr J. Moody for the use of liis grounds which were ideal, to Mr Peter Anderson for the use of liis truck and to the judges Mesdames Martin and Craig (Highland), Sister Smith and Mrs Prideaux (Baby Show), Messrs R. Turpin and. E. Kelly (Horse Events);, Mr A. Carling (Parking Steward), and the St. John Ambulance.
A list of donors; of goods for tjhe hangi and stall will be displayed in the Taneatua Patriotic Shop -window.
