E. J. Doran (Mr T. Hamerton) Avho appealed for his son T. A. Doran, said that he owned two farms, one at Waimana and the other at Taneatua. Reservist was, rersponsible for the farm at Waimana from which 30,0001bs of butterfat Were produced. The board took the view that appellant had been wrong in aggra--vating the position by purchasing another farm when his son was available. Appeal dismissed and reservist ordered to proceed to camp in three months time. "Although this reservist is showing his anxiety to j,oin up, the board considers that he's serving an infinitely better purpose, by staj--ing on his father's farm,"' said the chairman with regard to N. A. Eagle, for whom his father's appeal was entered. It was stated that another brother H. W. Eagle, who had hitherto lived on the farm had taken a share.-, milking job at Opotiki. ( Adjourned sine die. Appeal' for Stewart R. Luttrellj was entered by A. R. R. Luttrell, of Waimana, who stated that, reservist had been brought up on the farm and was invaluable to him in carding on his, 700 acre, block. He did not think it possible to replace him owing to the remote 1 nature of the farm. Decision reserved. Mrs E. C. Santon, Taneatua, ap-> | pealed for the retention of he.r sharemilker, Stephen A. Eagle, who was stationed 011 her farm at Opouriao. Adjourned sine die. Mr L. A. McDonald appealed for his son, R. L-. McDonald, who was stationed on his. farm at milking 96 cows which produced 23,3421bs of butterfat. Adjourned sine die. E. P. Woolfield, - Waimana, appealed for reservist D. F. Woolfield Who was assisting in the management of two farms. His other son had joined the. Air Force, and reservist had himself completed a period in training camp. Adjourned sine die, reservist to be made available for* territorial training before; July 1. Mr J. Mitchell for the Waimana Cheese Factory, entered appeals for F. C. Cl'ark, R; J. Cooper and J. C. Magner, manager, first assistant and cheesemaker respectively. The total staff w*as. six it was stated and the production between 4.00-500 tons. Sine, die adjournments Avere granted in the cases of all three, Cooper and Magner to be made available, for territorial training. Mr Claris Snr. stated that he did not desire, to repeat his appeal on behalf of his son, W. H. D. Claris, who was keen to join up. Withdrawn b\ r consent reservist not to. be called before July 31. Mr E. A. Webster (Mr Hamerton) appealed on behalf of. Richard Henry Webster on whom he said he, relied, for all the 1 heavy work on a farm milking 70 cows and yielding 13,8001bs of fat. Adjourned sine die, reservist to attend off-season camp. ' In the case of F. M. Abbott, ele.cn trician (Mr B. Barry) appeals from most of the garages, the dairy companies, power board and. many private firms indicated that town and district would suffer considerable inconvenience if reservist, was ordered away to camp, on account of the specialised nature of his work. Adjourned, sine die. For reservist A. A. Fowler, Mr B. Winters appealed, stating that 100 cows Avere millced on a property of 200 acres, and that FoAvler AA'as indispensable for the running of the farm. Adjourned sine die available for territorial training in off-season.
Mr J. Bowden. (Mr 11. F. Smitjfi) appealed for his sharemilker,. V. C. S. Hill, who was working on a prat pcrty of 330 acres at Manawalie. Adjourned 31/7/43; to remain in occupation and serve in Home. Guard. A, H. Jamieson (Mr Barry) appealed for his *son J. 11. Jamieson, stating that reservist was essential to him to work his property of 224 acres at Te Teko, where he was now sharemilking. Adjourned 31/7/43 un, der usual conditions. L. M. John farm labourer employed by J. Hanright, sharemilker for Mrs J. Reynolds (appellant) was granted an adjournment till 30/6/43 A joint appeal for S. R. John, by reservist and H. R. R. John, stated that they were farming a property embracing three, farms at Te Teko. Adjourned in order to allow board to make contact with reservist. B. C.
