GOVERNOR programml^^^^^H The following official gramme of the visit of Excellencies the Governor-Gen-era! and Lady New all* to Whakatane on May 6, has been dulyapproved:— 11.30 a.m. Their Excellencies arrive at Whakatane by car from Taneatua. Proceed to the Commercial Hotel, where met by the Mayor, the Mayoress, and! the Town Clerk. 12 noon. Civic reception at Pohaturoa Rock. (In the event , of inclement weather—at the Winter Show Buildings.) Their Excellencies will be met by the Mayor. Band*—First six bars of "God Save The King." • (a) Speech by the Mayor. (b) Speech by Mr J. L. Burnett, Chairman of the Whakatane Cbunty Council. (c) Hist Excellency replies. Conclusion: The first verse of "God 1 Save The King'' will be sung by the gathering. 12.4i5 p.m. Luncheon at the Commercial Hotel. ! 2.00 p.m. Their Excellencies attend' a gathering of combined school children. Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, Cubs '• and Brownies form a Guardl of Honour. 2.45 p.m. Their Excellencies visit the Public Hospital (60 | ■3.30 p.m. Afternoon tea,function at the Commercial' Hotel; ait which the more prominent residents of the town and district will be presented' to Their Excellencies. Their Excellencies will, be met by the Mayor andi the Mayoress. 4.15 p.m. Their Excellencies say good-bye to the Mayor, Mayoress, and Town Clerk, andi leave for Taneatua.
