The quota of ammunition for the Rotorua acclimatisation district which includes Rotorua, Taupo, Te--kaanu, Wairoa, Waikaremoana, Whakatane and. Opotiki was 80f)0 rounds. The recommended agents for distribution are as follows: Rotorua, Mr E. G. Guy (Rotorua Morning Post); Wairoa, Mr M. J. Gemmell (Deputy Mayor); Taupo, Dr Scaifc Armstrong (Chairman Town Board). 1 he l extent of the' season in the Rotorua Acclimatisation District for the taking of water I owl is from May Ist to the 16th. For the taking of cock pheasants and quail May Ist to June 30t.1i. Although there was a shortage of ammunition, Mr Parry comments* that a compensating factor was that reports showed birds to be in abundance throughout Rotorua Acclimatisation District. Sportsmen should therefore enjoy a splendid season.
