LOYAL SERVICE BADGE
STEPS TO PREVENT MISUSE Measures for safeguarding the Loyal Service Badge, the iirst of which were issued last • week, from falling into the hands ol! those not entitled to wear it, are being taken by the issuing authorities, and the badge cannot be put up unless the wearer holds and carries an authorising certificate. It is hoped that this, will prevent stolen or lost badges from being used by persons who have no right to their possession. Applications by those who consider they are entitled to the badge are received by Base 'Records, the necessary, inquiries are made, and if the issue is approved, the badge and a receipt Form for it are; sent by registered post to the applicant. ! Tliis does, not at once entitle him Lo wear the badge. He must return the receipt and then he will be issued immediately with the ."authority to wear'' certificate, after which j he is entitled lo put. up the badge. He should always carry the receipt with him.
