WHAKATANE BOWLING CLUB
NOVELTY TOURNAMENT
. A novelty tournament was the feature: of play last week-end oik the Whakatiine 1 Bowling Club's greens when some ten teams took, part in an enjoyable afternoon's play. Twenty-eight heads were played in all, with the players of each, team changing positions every seven heads. The result was in doubt up till the fma'l head. The team with the largest score to its credit was adjudged the winner. The outstanding feature was the splendid bowling by some of the leads in their innings as skips. The winning team was McLean*. Grant, Berg and Taylor. Details were:— Dainton, Smith, Buckmnn an&£ Currnh beat Mcintosh, Cantrell*K. J. Bel I aud Hoi lis 10. Taylor, Berg, Grant and McLeanf 37 beat A'llen, Wilson, Drubc and? Chamberlain lfi. Grace, Shapley, Marsh and Tip--pett 32 beat Topp, McKenzie, Mo» Leod and Howat 28. L. King, J. 8011, Francis and Littlejolin 28. drew with Head, Otley» Creekc and; Loane. 28.
