AIR TRAINING CORPS

LIKE many towns of its size Whakatane is now interesting itself in the formation of a branch of the junior or cadet section of the R.N.Z.A.F., known as the Air Training Corps. This movement which has gained widespread popularity throughout the Dominion is dedicated to youths and Jboys who have the necessary qualifications, who might volunteer as trainees for Air Force later on though this course is not compulosry. The age limit is 16 to 18 years, and anplicants must be fit to stand up to very rigorous training. A thorough grounding is given in the main branches of aeronautics and a smart uniform is provided. Those in-' terested should watch this paper for further and fuller particulars which will be announced later.
