The thoughtful gesture of the Town Cleric of Whakatane in send-* ing the periodicals from the Bor-* " ough Library overseas to local men) in the forces, when they have been finished with, is apparently warmly appreciated by the recipients if a letter read at the Borough Council! meeting last, evening from Spr Bob Guide is any guide. The letter pressed the warmest appreciation and thanks. *
