LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

WHAKATANE MEETING The first meeting of the year was held in Knox Hall on Tuesday afternoon last. Mrs W. Sullivan presided over a good attendance of members and friends. The Aims and Ohn jects of the League, were read, fo-I-» lowed by' special prayers for peace. Greetings were read from the Pro-* vincial President, Mrs Harvey Turner, the Dominion Secretary, Mrs Wall, and several interesting letters from our linked branch at Mt. Albert . The thought for the month was given by 'the President, "lake t'iYno to be Holy.' Rev. H. Hogg addressed the meeting, his subject -being "The Sanctity of Marriage." The. speaker urged those present to teach religion in the home, respect to age and parents, and to maintain its .sanctity—the main duty of parents. Mrsi' C. W. Good then sang two songs "To Antliea," and "The Little Girl from. Hanley Way" in her charming manner. Afternoon tea Avas dispensed by the committee, after which ,the meeting closed with the National Anthem.
