WARNING ISSUED
SOLDIERS' TELEGRAMS the censorship authorities have 'recently brought to the notice of Army Headquarters man) 7 instances »of soldiers about to propeed overseas endeavouring to inform their next-of-kin., relatives and friends of details of their departure by means -of telegrams, which, on. their face, •are merely messages relating to purely personal matters, but which are intended to convey to the adi dresses information relating to the movements of the soldiers, states •an Army Order just issued. "Telegrams such as these," continued the Order, "may cost the sender a mere shilling, but they m,ay cost him and his fellow-soldiers their lives, they may cost men of the mercantile marine, their lives, and they may cause the loss, of valu-< able ships. In short they may injure the country's whole war effort. "Acts of the above nature and any other similar breaches will in future be severely dealt with. Every •offender will be tried by court mar-, tial and will be liable to imprisonment with hard labour for two vears •or, if an officer, be cashiered."
