GAY EDGECUMBE EVENING POPULAR IRISH ITEMS St. Patrick's dance held on March 16th in Bell's Hall "was attended by a large gathering and was an outstanding success. During the even* ing an Irish Jig by Margaret Black, bara List, Sonia Martin, and Mary bara List, Zonia Martin and. Mary Ratahi was loudly applauded all been pupils of Mrs Patience. Miss Rich sang "A Little- Irish Girl" and an encorc "I Walk Beside You" "which was much appreciated. . ' . The music was n!l that ccukl b& desired was by the Gaiety Bgvs. The M.G. was Mr T. Atkinson. The competitions were as followsA hand-worked supper cloth was won by Miss Judith Burke;, a handpainted cushion won by Mrs Percv Woods; a dinner won by Ma-ter F. Mexted. . A delicious, home-made sup per was served by the committee and a willing band of helpers. A reallv enjoyable evening was spent by all.
