SUPPLY OF FOOTWEAR The question of an adequate supply of special boots lor women working in wet conditions on farms was. referred to at the monthly meeting of the Auckland Provincial Executive of the New Zealand Fanners' Union on March 17. The Minister of Supply (Hon. D. G. Sullivan) stated, in reply to an inquiry, that the 1943 footwear programme provided for a quantity of boots suitable. for this purpose. He added thai an endeavour would be made to obtain a small number of gum boots from overseas. The Provincial Secretary (Mr A. E. Robinson), in a reply to the Minister, said, he had been informed that the Lands Department's store at Kerepeehi contained H>o pairs of gum boots. It was possible, he said, that, there were other surplus stocks. The -Military stores were also said to have considerable supplies.
