I •" • * FAREWELL DANCE 1 The farewell dance held last Thursday evening in the Waimana Hall was most successful, Gunner Dick White being the guest of the ' evening. The dance music was supj Plied by Mr and Mrs King, Miss M. Ward law, Mr Graham Wardlaw and Mr Allen Bell. The M.C. was Mr M. King, while Mr Morton was doorkeeper. The sum of £12 3s 6d was ' taken at the. door. The novelty I dances proved most popular, especially the 'Broom' dance. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr H. Spanhake and Miss. Eileen Addison and Gunner White and Miss Merrie. The prizes for the novelty dances were donated by Mrs H. Wardlaw and Miss E. Wardlaw. The stool for competition was given by Mrs H. Bell | and won by Mr H. Wardlaw. Mr Jim Hughes won a further competition. After supper Mr J. L. Buri»ctt ill his usual capable manner, asked the guest of the evening to accept a wallet and its contents from air present with their good wisfces and wished him a safe return. Gunner White suitably responded, thanking Mr Burnett for the gift and the pleasant, evening tendered him. The function closed with "Auld Lang Syne" and the National Anthem.
