FRIENDLY SOCIETIES TOURNEY t At the usual fortnightly meeting of the Whakatane Lodge of the ' M.U.1.0.0.F.,, held in the Parish Hall last Wednesday evenimg a very enjoyable tournament of Indoor Bowling took place those participating represented teams from the local lodge, teams from the Taneatua lodge, teams from the local Independent order and teams from the Methodist Social Club. The winning team was; Mesdames Storey, Moore, Teasdale and Mr Attwood (skip) of the Taneatua M.U.1.0.0.F. Details of the play were as under: Taneatua (No. 2 team) Whakatane (Independent) lOpts;, Taneatua (No. 1 team) 9pts; Whakatane (Methodist No. 1) Bpts; Whakatane (M.U.1.0.0.F. No. 1) 6pts; Whakatane M.U.1.0.0.F. (No. 3) 6pts; Whakatane (M.U.1.0.0.F. No. 2) spts; Whakatane Methodist No. 2) 0. Supper was provided by a willing ladies committee from the Whakatane. Lodge after which Mr W. Russell presented- the winning team with the trophies won during evening.
