RUBBISH COLLECTION SERVICE
MAY we seek in some measure to convey to the Borough Council something- of the public endorsement which has greeted its latest effort to introduce a regular weekly collection of refuse throughout the Borough. The contacting of a likely tenderer and the investigation of the possibility of a supply of suitable containers are in themselves tangible proof that the Council is taking a more active interest in a service, the lack of which is the cause of unfavourable comment from every new resident to our town. As the Council knows only too well the service will in itself bring about a great alleviation of many of the present vermin evils from which this town has learnt to suffer in silence for far too long. The recent measures are possibly the most promising auguries we have had as yet, and whilst warmly encouraging the Council in its newest measures we reserve our congratulations for the actual inauguration of the service of which the town is so blatantly in need.
