HOSPITAL RATING
COUNTY AND BOROUGH BASIS ANOTHER VAGUE LETTER It. would, appear that the Internal Affairs Department, in the midst, of tlie galaxy of official evasiveness set out in the usual departmental replies, is last approaching championship laurels—at least as far as its handling of the Whafeatane Borough Council's request for 'a fairer basis of Hospital rating in town and county, is concernctl. The latest effusion may best be described as a remarkable illustration of official 'bubble and squeak/ with emphasis mainly on the. former term. The Borough having made what appears to be fair-ly sound case regarding dcscrepency in valuation figures has received a veritable gem of empty nothings in reply. The position will no -doubt be dealt with when opportunity offers and. will be kept in mind for such occasion. The Mayor: He certainly has: left plenty of loopholes to back out— and now lie's gone to America! Cr Good: A classical legal letter! The Town Clerk stated that the Municipal Association was taking steps" to bring the matter to the notice of the Counties Association. The Mayor: The only thing is not to lose sight of it,, and to keep at the Internal Affairs Department.
