WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

OTAKIRI GARDEN PARTY The garden party organised by the Otakiri Women's Institute l for Patriotic funds, was held on Saturday last at Mr G. J. Murray's residence. Beautiful sunshine and a spacious shady garden helped considerably to the successful afternoon. Stalls laden with produce, cakes, soft drinks, etc. were well patronised by the public, and the various novelty competitions were in keen demand. The children were well catercd for and they were excellent customers. A delightful buffet afternoon tea was served by members, after which an auction sale conducted by Mr Dunning completely cleared the saleable goods. The Women's Institute Committee extends thanks to all for their splendid suppqrt by which the Patriotic Fund will benefit by over £33.
