THE POLITICAL TRINITY

Sir,—Quoting the Standard it would appear that the' Hon., Peter Fraser has got the wind up over the Canterbury by-election, but when it comes to> a general election are the people going to lie swayed by the Lee-Barnard-Herring party? This is drawing the Herring across the tracks of party politics with a vengeance. The Standard has also got the wind, up and is feeling unhappy; it wants; to know what will befall the Trades Unionists? If it is to be John Lee for it there will be a regimentation of the same magnitude as it is to-day, and a change of "menu'' from boiled rice to rice boiled. It would have been better if Mr Fraser had refrained, from • calling the pot black when referring to John Lee and the semi Hitler stunt. Whilst things are not so satisfactory from a political standpoint, it would be more to the. point for Mr Fraser to give the l people a fighting chance to air their views at a general election instead of grouching about John Lee and his little peculiar traits which are. also prfevialtent; amongst otiher members of our political fraternity. Yours etc., W. BRADSHAW.
