Sir, —In following up your puzzles: — Ten Pake-has go into' an hotel at Whakatane. They split up. Five stand at one end of the bar and five stand at ithe other. Each one shouts costing 2s 6d each group, 12s ©d or a total of 25si.i 1 . Ten Maoris go further along the bar they also split up. Six stand in one group and four in another group. They each shout all round. The four contribute Bs. and tbe 5 18s or a total of 265. How is it the Maoris had to pay Is more for the same number of drinks as the Pak*» * \ eha's.' , P.
