EGG RATIONING
HINT AT POSSIBILITY
The possibility of egg rationing was hinted at by the. Al mister of Alarketing, the. Hon. J. G. Barclay, in an interview with the. Ghristchurcli Preys. "We are endeavouring to get some rationing system for eggs throughout New Zealand/' he said when questioned-, "so that the. districts, otlier than Auckland and Wellington, Avill contribute their quota towards the need si of the army, the navy, and; the demand for overseas.
The overseas demand for eggs was very strong, said Air 13a relay, and he had bought 1 ~">(K*,-000 dozen eggs from Australia, in egg pulp and powder forms, to assist in the oil season. But. there was still an unsatislied demand in Auckland and Wellington.
Asked if the creation of egg lloors would; make rationing easier of adoption by the Government, Air Barclay replied that the egg marketing regulations Avere not of general. application;, thev applied only to some of the majpr centre.M..
