MATCH AGAINST WAIMANA WIN FOR O POT IKE 21—11 During" the week-end' a team from Opotiki visited Waimana, where some close, and keenl3 r -eontested games were -witnessed. The young members of the team played very well against their more experienced opponents. Although Opotiki won 21—11, the score was not a true indication of the run of the games;, many being very evenly contested 1 . The most promising players for the Opotiki team were the Thornton sisters, Messrs Patterson, Reid and Parkinson. With the exception of Miss M., Thornton, the rest, of these players made their first appearance in outside match play. At. the conclusion of play Mr T. Black in a very happy vein thanked the Waimana G'Jub for a most enjoyable time, mentioning especially the ladies who supplied the refreshments.
