THREE MONTHS' KILLINGS

The official figures of killings for the present season at the Dominion's Freezing Works from Ist Oct v 4 ober till January 2nd, as. issued by the. New Zealand Meat. Producers Board, show that, lamb killings now total 1,930,314 carcases,, this being a decrease of 601,130 carcases compared with the killings to January 3rd last season. Wether mutton killings are 37,189 carcases, and ewe mutton killings 73.826 carcases, compared, with 104,849 and 47,368 carcases respectively last season. Details of, the lamb and mutton kill-j ings in the North Island, with lig— vires lor the previous season in parentheses, are as follows-:— Lamb carcases 1,633,973 (1,788,869). Wether mutton carcases 37,172 (100,422). Ewe mutton carcases 73,263 (34,434). Frozen beef production has reached 4.4,166 quarters, compared with 30,985 quarters! last season. Porker killings total 8,517 carcases, a dccreasc of 22,068, whilst baeoners total 35,638 carcases, a decrease of 70,160.
