KILLINGS TO DECEMBER 19 The official figures of killings for the present season at the. Dominion's Freezing Works from Ist October till December 19th, as: issued by the New Zealand Meat Producers Board, show that lamb killings now total 1,338,006 carcases, this being a decrease of 603,685 curccascs over the killings to December 20th iast season. Wether mutton killings are 2(5,(>18 carcases;, and ewe mutton killiigs. 47,079 carcases, compared with 70,7(56 and 29fi225 carcases respectively last season. Details: of the lamb and mutton, killings in the North and the South Islands, with figures: for the previous season in parentheses are as: follows:— North Island Lamb 1,191,082 (1,386,468) Wether mutton 26,609 ( 66,970) Kwe mutton 47,019 ( 23,937) South Island' La ml) 11.6,924 ( ."355,223) Wether mutton 9 ( 3,796) Ewe mutton 60 ( 5,288) Frozen beef production has reached 3(5,032 quarters compared with 24,189 quarters last season. Porker killings' total 7,751 carcases, a decrease of 20,038, Avhilst baconers total 30,964 carcases,, a decrease of 63,107.
