TRAVEL BAN LIFTED

RAIL SERVICES NOW OPEN

NORMAL FROM TO-DAY

As from to-day the restrictions on rail travel are to be removed iaind it will not be necessary to obtain a permit to travel more than 100 miles in the North Island. The Minister of Railways, the Hon. R. Semplc, in making the. above statement, points out, however, that the accommodation available on long distance trains will be considerably limited and prospective passengers will be well advised to reserve seats. Reservations will not be made more than two weeks ahead. The question of travel restrictions will be reviewed from time to time. The necessity for confining travel to essential journeys still exists so that, the railways can give the fullest service in the national interest.
