TREDREA—MERRIE On December 2G, 1942, at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Tancatua the marriage of Nola Ka!3)~ leen, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs G. H. In attendance to the bride were Miss Elva Merrie, sister of the bride and Miss Margaret ShaAv avlio woro frocks of eau-dc-nil and rose pi.:ik lace over taffetas, respectively. Botii frocks were cut with long bodice-, heart-shaped, neck-lines and fr.M skirts. The bridesmaids also wore veils held in place by sprays of go.!boras and gladioli and carried bou— quets in pink and green tonings:. The bridegroom Avas assisted Trooper D. Merrie as bestman, a-idL Mr G. W. Merrie, avlio \vas recently invalided home from the' Western Desert. Both are brothers of ti>» brfcle.

After the ceremony a reception was held, in the. Tancalua Hall where the bride's mother, Mrs G. H. Merrie, wearing a black ensemble and the bridegroom's, mother, weaving a navy ensemble, welcomed approximately 250 guests. Among the guests were the bride's grandmother Mrs Ward] aw, and tho bridegroom's sister, Miss Joyce Tredrea. The hall had been tastefully decorated by friends of the bride, with sweet peas in pastel colours. Afternoon tea was: served buffetstyle from the many small tables set round the hall. While l the best man was reading a number of telegrams of congratulation, the wedding cake which s „had been beautifully decorated by Mrs M. Maddren. of Opotiki, was cut by the happy couple and partaken of by all. After the reception, the guests were invited to the bride's home to see the many wedding presents which full} 7 showed the rcspcet anJesteem that has always been accorded, to the. bride's mother and her family. The bride, wearing a hand embroidered grey frock with black accessories, and groom later left by car on an extended tour.
