THE week has seen the business section of Whakatane assuming something- of its normal aspect, after the annual holidays. As usual there j,s the 'lull' as far as business activities are concerned due to the fact that so many are still away enjoying the Christmas vacation with their families even though father may keep in touch with the world of commerce by maintaining his link with the office or shop and reuniting with his family for the week-end. The week has been for many a period of readjustment after a holiday spell in which the weather Avas kind and the overseas war news the best we have had for years.
