CARD EVENING

EDGECUMBE PATRIOTIC EFFORT POPULAR INNOVATION Cards again proved popular when nearly ninety local residents attended the flag .300 evening, now held fortnightly by the Edgecumbe Branch of the Patriotic Society, last Thursday, October 22. The travelling ilag was gained by Miss J. Vcrner and seated at the table with the highest number of flags were Mrs P. Cole, Miss O. Simpson, Mir E. Kilbride and Mr R. Magee. Moody; Mir and. Mrs F. Mayo; Mr and Mrs Michael; Mr and Mrs Newdick; Miami Mrs R.i Orr; Mi' and Mns Pepperell; Mr and Mrs Rowntree; Mr and Mrs L. Perkins; Mr and Mrs A. C. Ranby; Mr and Mrs J. The usual dainty buffet supper, served by the ladies committee, brought a very enjoyable evening to an end.
