SLAV INFLUENCE ON RUMANIA
"The Slav influence on flie Rumanians has been very large, and it is particularly to be noticed in the Rumanian language. A great part of the agricultural terminology, numerous verbs and, other Avords, are of Slav origin and points to a long common life of the two peoples. The Rumanians adopted, late in the Middle Ages, the forms of social ami political organisations ol' the Slav linpe, small villages, situated along the vailcvs or rivers, led by a knez or voevod,. *\s regards social life, the Rumanians adopted from the Slavs; the system of collective ownership of the soil by the whole village."
