EXAMPLES TO BE MADE
FOR the best part of a year 'blackout wardens' as they have become, popularly known have had the mortification of seeing all their reports on blatant offenders against the lighting restrictions side-tracked and finally forgotten. It becomes however a serious state of affairs when an offending occupier can not only flout the regulations but also at the height of the blackout test, openly abuse those officers who make a visit to his home to point out the. breach he has committed. It will therefore be a source of satisfaction to those who, whether they believe them necessary or not endeavour to comply with the regulations to read that the committee has taken definite steps to prosecute two of the worst offenders of last week's emergency test.
