WEDDING BELLS
ERSKINE —HEAD A quiet but pretty wedding took pliu-c at St. George's Church, Whakatane, on Wednesday evening, September 24, when Hazel, youngest daughter of Mr .and Mrs C. He ail of Ohope, formerly of Thornton, was married to Gunner Leonard Erskine, second son of Mr and Mrs R. Erskine' of Manawahe. Rev. S.' G. Caul ton officiated, and Mrs W. Bridger presided; at tlift organ. The bride Avho entered the church. on the arm of her father, wore a powder-blue dress and coat, with toning hat and carried a bouciuet of f'reesias. stocks and fern. The bridesmaid was Miss Joyc:: Erskine. sister of the -bridegroom, wore a dress and coat of pastel blue with hat to tone. The best man was Mr Ronald Tooke. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Bell - Tea Rooms where Mrs Head, assisted by Mrs Erskine, received the guests The customary toasts were honoured and congratulatory telegrams were read* Rev. S. G. Caulton acted as toast.-? ma'ker, and a bright and happy evening was spent.
