£558 MORE NEEDED
WHAKATANE'S Patriotic Fund quota, is now something within striking distance of its objective. This after the long sticky period when the town appeared to have a definite lag behind the rest of the communal sections within the Zone is cheering news. To-day of the total £2306 required the sum of £558 remains to be found. True a proportion of this will accrue: from monthly subscriptions which are continually coming to hand, but it is obvious that yet another effort by way of canvass or subscription will have to be made in order to achieve it. Every confidence is felt, however, that- the forthcoming effort whatever its form will fully realise the desired amount and that our town will, before the end of the year be well in line with other centres which have fulfilled district quotas.
