WHAKATANE CLUB
FAREWELL AFTERNOON
The farewell function for Mr and Mrs Bullard and family was a very happy one. There was a good muster of members and friends, and the occasion had a bright and festive air, despite tlie critical times.. The club presented # the- guests with a fine mantel clock in recognition of their sterling services. Suitable speeches were made by the President, Mr L. Luxton, and other speakers. Mrs Steele spoke on belialf of the ladies. Mr and Mrs Bullard both, replied. The function ended with "For They Are Jolly Good Felows." Mixed Canadian Foursome The winner of this competition oxer 9 holes; were: Mrs Eggers and Mollgaard 4.8^—11 —37. Draw Next Saturday there will be a Medal Handicap for the President's Trophy. Draw will be arranged at the clubhouse. Finals Intermediate-: Bridger v Henderson. Junior: Syme v Cockerell. ,
