MELBOURNE CUP DATES The Victoria Racing Club has ail-
nouncctl that unless anything unforsecn occurs the Victoria Derby will be run on November 14 and the Melbourne Cup on November 28. FAVOURITE FOR THE EPSOM Yarilla continued his winning sequence by scoring in the Hill Stakes at Rosehill, and, is now first favourite lor the Kpsom Handicap, always a very fast run mile. SHOULD RUN WELL Included in the Taumarunui Stakes field at the Ohinemuri meeting on Saturday is Miss Cardine, who has only to run up to her Avondale Guineas I'orm to make it merry for the opposition. MADE GOOD PROGRESS * i-K..
liw jJilal 111U11L11 1 AWI has made marked headway, and, her owner deserves credit lor the condition in which he has the bay lilly. In her latest work out Yes Tor lias shown abilitj* to handle soft going, and she is worth keeping in mind during 'the next month or two.
IN GREAT ORDER There is no litter horse at Filerslie than Lady Ex, and the daughter of Lord Quex has been working accordingly. She has also shaped well on each occasion that she has been schooled over the battens, and her! prospects of making good as a | hurdler appear bright. | WILL EXTEND HER RECORD ! Alter an easy time since the Pakuranga meeting. Cherry's Ticket is now being sent along faster, and is •thriving on her . preparation. There will be plenty of races to suit tlx? daughter of Croupier during the next month or two, and she looks certain to extend her record. MAKING GOOD HEADWAY The latest track efforts of Camilla indicate that she is on the up grade, while she is also hardening in condition. This filly ran a very creditable race at the Avondale meeting, if she repeats that form in her coming engagements she is likely to earn some stake money. N.Z. CUP CANDIDATES The Canterbury trained Sally Lunn Is being specially prepared for the New Zealand Cup in November. Dunedin's hope for this event is lloyal Lancer, now undergoing a strong preparation for tlie two miles contest.
HAS RESUMED RACING Siglow has resumed racing after] a spell during tlie winter. A hurdling career has been planned for liim. He is exceptionally good, in heavy going, "while he has also shown jumping capability. ANOTHER FOR HURDLING It is probable that I-linkler, one of the ruling favourites for the Poland Cup, may be transferred to the hurdling division shortly, the success of ithe Musketoon gelding, Renascor, in this year's Grand National Hurdles perhaps being an incentive to Hinkler's owner, also by Musketoon, being included in the lepping department.
