MANAGERIAL APPOINTMENTS MENT MR E. B. BROWN" COMPANY MANAG ER The Directors of the Whakatano Paper Mills Limited announce the appointment of Mr G. H. Mrfekley as Managing Director of the (Company in succession to the late Mr H. A. Horrocks. Mr Mackley was formerly General Manager of RailwajTs and. upon his retirement in January 1940, accepted an invitation to join the Directorate of the Paper Mills. The appointment of Mr Ernest B. Brown as Manager of the Company and of Mr James W. Wright as New Zealand Secretary, are also announced. Prior to his appointment as Manager, Mr Brown was New Zealand Secretary ancl has been closely identified with the development and production side of the company's business since its inception. Mr Wright has been associated with the company for many years firstly as Secretary to the Australian side of the business and since 1939, when the company commenced production as Accountant in the New Zealand office. Another recent addition to the Company's Executive is that of Mr Roy Combes, 8.E., A.M.1.E.E., who becomes Superintendent Engineer in charge of the electrical side of the business. Mr Combes was formerly Engineer Asea Electric (N.Z.) Limited, Wellington, and has frequently visited the mill in a professional capacity. The Asea Companjr were the contractors for the major portion of the electrical plant and equipment installed at the Paper Mills and the specialised knowledge that Mr Combes has of that portion of plant will be invaluable to the company.
