GARDENING CIRCLE
WOMEN'S INSTITUTE INTERESTS The September meeting of the Wailll alla-Nu kuli ou Women's Institute gardening circle was held at the home of Mrs Mannion, Waimana. There was a good attendance of members, Mrs John Addison presided. A discussion on growing carnations and vegetables was most interesting. Mrs Mitchell read twointeresting papers on orchids and work in the garden. The day's competitions were:— Best flower: Mrs Stevenson 1; Mrs Wykle 2; Mrs Mitchell 3. Best. vege-. table: Mrs Woolfield.' 1; Mrs Wylde? 2; Mrs Mitchell 3.Six daffodils: Mrs Stevenson 1; Mrs Mitchell 2. Three daffodils: Mirs Mitchell 1; Mrs Stevenson 2; Mrs Wylde 3.. Bowl of primroses: Mrs Wylde 1; Mrs Stevenson 2: Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Wylde provided afternoon tea, »nd Mrs Addir son thanked Mrs Grant arid. Mas Lawrence for acting as judges; and als*> Mrs Mannion for the pleasant afternoon. A competition arranged, by Mrs Mannion was won by Mrs Wylde? with Mrs Stevenson second.
