PATRIOTIC DANCE
HAPPY EVENING AT EDGE-
CUMBE
The second of the monthly dances to be run by the Edgecumbe branch of the Patriotic Society was held in the Edgecumbe Hall last. Thursday, September 24. In spite of bad weather a good crowd turned up to dance to the music of the popular Rhythm Aces. Mr J Russell with his usual efficiency carried out duties -of Mi.C.
A raffle, the results of which added very substantially to funds, was won by. Mrs B. Rhodes.
The committee take this opportunity, of thanking the donor of the prize, a set of carvers, and the residents. who. greatly assisted, in the selling of the tickets, especially the local storekeepers.
A dainty home made supper, generously supplied by. local ladies, was served by the ladies committee under |he able supervision *of Mrs Cole.
